The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has introduced it’s launch of an eParking system, an modern resolution for paying parking charges in Dubai.
The challenge will include upgraded parking meters fitted with interactive contact screens enabling customers to enter car particulars and have eParking tickets issued.
The eParking tickets is an alternative choice to the prevailing mParking involving the sending of textual content messages through cell phones. The new process eliminates the necessity for displaying a paper ticket on the windscreen of the car.
The initiative is a part of RTA’s efforts to develop new services suitable with the Smart City initiative.
The implementation of the challenge has began after the evaluation of public polls carried out throughout a pilot run of improved parking meters at different places.
RTA stated it gave due consideration to prospects suggestions about reducing the steps of entering car particulars by just a tap of the card.
It added that superior parking meters will probably be installed over a number of phases ranging from the first quarter of 2020 till the end of 2022.
The RTA stated the new system will remove offences resulting from the improper show of parking tickets in addition to enabling the fee of parking charges for motorbikes.
